Reading Notes: Household Stories by the Grimm Brothers

Household Stories by the Brothers Grimm, translated by Lucy Crane and illustrated by Walter Crane (1886).

I could write about Snow white and the four times that her step-mother tried to kill her because she was so beautiful. Snow-White was most definitely not the brightest or at least naive since she always fell for the old lady even after almost dying so many times. At least in the end snow white finally got peace once her step-mother died and finally managed to leave the poor girl alone

Reading Notes: Italian Popular Tales: A

Italian Popular Tales by Thomas Frederick Crane (1885)

I could write about how the beast had pretty much blackmailed the girl into staying with her. He did the same with when he asked her to marry her since her father was dying. It was interesting how she didn't have to love her in order for him to transform. I could write about the life she had there and what she went through during her time in captivity.

Reading Post: Sita Sings the Blues B

Sita Sings the Blues by Nina Paley (2008)

I could write about Sita's story once she was abandoned in the forest while she was pregnant and the struggles she went through there. Also about how Rama onces again ask Sita to prove her purity to him. He sends her away knowing she was pregnant and then expects her to prove her purity for the second time after he finds her again. I could twist it where she leaves him without proving anything and turns everything on him this time. That is not fair and I would like to show that in my story.
