Reading Notes: Myths and Legends of British North America: B

Myths and Legends of British North America by Katharine Berry Judson (1917).

They practically kidnapped the salmon and force them to come back every year. I could write a story about them revolting and fighting against this and actually winning so they do not have to keep coming back. Adding a conversation between them would also be good and we can get to know them better too.

I could write the story about how the sun became brighter. Extend the story to include some conversation so that they have to negotiate more so that the sun can get the brighter robe. We can also have the reaction of the grandma once the boy comes back with a different one. We can also talk about why the whole village moved away and only left the kid and the grandma behind. What did the child do that we were so mad at him?

Reading Notes: Pattanaik's Calendar Art: Part B (Narayan)

Devdutt Pattanaik's Seven Secrets from Hindu Calendar Art.
I could write about how the churning of the ocean happened and all of the things came up to be. How they needed both the devas and the asuras to get the treasure they all needed. The amrita, his wife Lakshmi, wealth, and many more things. There was a lot of fighting and even poison emerged from it which Shiva had to consume to stop the world from being destroyed. This is why he has a blue throat from the poison.
